People In Music  by Clayton Moore

I imagine the history of music must have started with just using sound to communicate, then an expression of worship and finally to entertain and enrich.  Music has ignited passion and controversy. It has elevated us, put us to sleep, and been the ubiquitous backdrop in every aspect of our lives.  Even those who cannot hear revel in its rhythm and meter.  It is inescapable, it is life, and it is in all of us.

Part of what makes music so divine is the experience of the People In Music. A musician will gladly open his or herself to total strangers in the process of performing.  Nothing is so intoxicating to a musician as making an audience “feel it”.  It is like a prayer, or a dance, or sex, or the best roller coaster ride you have ever had. When the rapport with an audience is perfect it is all these things rolled into one, and it is magic!  The musician will practice and practice then offer their music as a gift to whoever will listen, and hope that somehow the audience will feel their passion--they hope somehow at a deeper level they will be understood.

Music lives in the heart of each person making it.  Music lives in small nightclubs, local musical theaters, and concert halls; it lives in homes, schools, and in churches.  Music travels in huge caravans to giant arenas; it fills up the airwaves and spills out into every corner of our lives.

This project is about People In Music.  We will strive over time to touch every aspect of what it means to make music--not just the musicians but everyone who participates in the musical process.  People in Music are after all, more than just musicians, they are people who help and support in the musical process.  Yes, this is a very ambitious project and will never be done, but always evolving.  We invite you to come along on the journey.
